AWAM CFL and some of our South FL Chapter friends will be teaming up to take our wiring bracelet project up to the NAS Jacksonville Airshow. Join us for a fun weekend full of making bracelets and airshow adventures! Many of us will be carpooling up and sharing hotel rooms so make sure you get in touch in advance to get all set up. If you’d like to volunteer at the AWAM booth please make sure you have a chapter tshirt. They can be ordered from https://www.redbubble.com/people/ostrichbaby/works/33458446-rosie-does-more-than-rivet?p=t-shirt&style=mens&rbs=
Come hit the Beach with AWAM. We are aircraft mechanics but we’re Floridians first. A fun morning tidying up Daytona Beach and then we will head out of the sun for some lunch. We will meet at Hightower Beach, just south of Patrick Air Force Base. This event will double as our May Chapter Meeting.
AWAM CFL will have a booth at the Orlando-Sanford International Airport 2nd annual Aviation Day. Volunteer to help us staff the booth and work with kids (and adults!) doing fun crafts that teach some fundamental skills used in aviation maintenance. If you can't volunteer, make sure to stop by and say hello!
We have a new meeting space! FEAM has graciously allowed us to use their MCO line office until we find something more suitable.
This meeting will be busy, as it is to prep for Sanford Airport Aviation Day the following Saturday so all hands are needed to prep the wiring bracelet project kits. Bring needle nose pliers and wire cutters if you have them handy.
Once again AWAM Central Florida is partnering with the Central Florida chapter of Women in Aviation International to participate in their national Girls in Aviation Day event. AWAM will be running a project teaching the girls to squeeze a rivet and make their own keychain. This event requires ADVANCE registration. If you are interested please contact Stacey Rudser
