AWAM had a great time taking the wiring bracelet kit to Sanford Airport Aviation Day. We had a chance to interact with hundreds of kids and introduce them to Aviation Maintenance as a career path while teaching them how to use wire strippers and crimpers.By the end of the day we had run out of pre-made bracelet kits and were making them on the fly. We made over 250 bracelets!

An Orlando area girl scout troop invited AWAM to a meeting to learn about aviation maintenance and airplanes in general. Our chapter president had a great time explaining what we do as aircraft mechanics and the kids got a chance to use real tools to take apart a toy biplane and put it back together. The biggest surprise for the girls was hearing that you can be a girly-girl and still be a mechanic!
